Color and Value Studies
This made the most sense to keep together since most of the planning for this painting was done digitally. The sketch was then blocked into values and then rendered. I then took the value study and put gradient layers on top of it to get the different varations for color. Honestly, I really loved the first palette I think the contrast of the orangy-fusia colors and the green teals look beautfiul together. However I ended up chosing the second color iteration because it was to be a diptych with “Onwards!” I wanted consistency between the two so it made sense to work with an almost same color palette. In the end I do really like this choice and the colors are coincidentally the lesbian flag colors.
