Value Study
I did the color and value studies side by side for this piece. I still like the idea of the light coming in from the right side of the background, however I wanted the elements on the table to be more of the focus. So I opted for the second study. Hierarchy, hierarchy, hierarchy. That was talked about a lot with this one. As an illustration, it is not the strongest arrangement of values, but I still like how the painting turned out. There’s still a lot of depth and has the viewer looking all over to discover new details.
